This study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with seven pastors who had experienced transition within the past five years, entering churches that varied in size and cultural character while being in the same denomination. The research, following a literature review, engaged qualitative methodology through personal interviews guided by four research questions. These questions explored the participants' beliefs about inerrancy, their approaches to difficult texts, their methods of interpretation which were largely individualistic, and their reliance upon God's guidance in understanding texts. A qualitative study was carried out to explore the factors which encourage ministers to take sabbatical leave. This study suggests that the denomination needs to work at explaining the need for and benefits of sabbatical leave and to be more proactive in encouraging ministers. There is little critical evaluation of the Cursillo movement, and the available literature on the movement raises questions about the legitimacy and propriety of some methods employed during the Cursillo weekend. The design of this project is to discover the long-term effects of the Reformed Cursillo in Northwest Iowa. This study utilized semi-structured interviews with twelve pastors in the Reformed Church in America focusing on leadership skills and transition, power and authority dynamics, and staff relations. The study revealed that the transition from solo to senior pastorate affects personal and professional aspects of the pastor's life. The study revealed the influence of the Reformed tradition in Southern Baptist theology on the doctrinal climate at Lakeview and also identified in the Lakeview missions culture a central theme, 'people groups' as a point of common ground between current missiological thinking and resurgent Baptist
