The project proposes that a series of twelve sermons covering all twenty-eight chapters of Acts can influence people's attitudes regarding witnessing and personal involvement in Christian evangelism. The research discloses information necessary to create the twelve persuasive sermons and the instrument measuring attitude change. A group within a church congregation participated in this project by taking a pretest and posttest version of the measuring instrument. The fifteen-week seminar taught the concepts of leadership foundations, community and performance to over twenty selected church leaders. A control group of church leaders did not attend the seminar. An evaluation instrument, validated by a panel of ministry leaders was utilized among both the control group and the study group in a pre-test / post-test design. Results indicated that the leaders who participated in the study improved their scores on the post-test evaluations by a statistically significant margin, not only in the overall leadership evaluation, but also within each of the three leadership attribute categories studied. No improvement in scores was found among the control group. The program is based on the cognitive/behavioral tradition providing insight and skills needed to change thinking and behavior. This approach not only enables married couples to learn effective ways of developing a more stable and satisfying relationship, but also provides a structure in which the learned skills can be put into practice. 12 couples participated in this 8-week program. They completed the following 7 components: 1) attendance and participation in the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program Approach seminar; 2) reading 2 marriage enrichment books; 3) Bible-based devotional reading and prayer twice weekly; 4) a date night every other week; 5) weekly meetings; 6) a weekend retreat; and 7) attendance and participation in a 'Celebration of Commitment' ceremony. The ENRICH Marital Inventory was given as a pre- and post-test. It was used to measure the effectiveness of the program along with verbal and written reporting by the couples. A specially created questionnaire was administered to all students, teachers, and parents of four selected classes before and after a teacher's training and testing period. The training sessions cited the ultimate example of Jesus' relationship building, reinforced by literature reviews and examples of contemporary teachers. Parents and students confirmed a more positive attitude because of a new effort by the teachers. It presents reviews of literature on Christian leadership and a summary and analysis of case study research on two senior pastors in southeastern Pennsylvania. The hypothesis defines as effective Christian leader as one who maximizes his strengths, minimizes his limitations, develops in Christ-like character, and influences others to accomplish a common vision. Interviews using a standardized questionnaire, an evaluation tool, church records and documentation, and personal observation yield information that was analyzed and interpreted for support or non-support of the hypothesis.
