It employs a qualitative case study method to examine Dallas Seminary's archives, interview experts in the field, and compare DTS sites and other seminaries. The propositions assumed positive impact on sustainability (proximity to an undergraduate Bible college; the presence of local faculty-staff for recruitment, retention, and liaising with the home campus; and educational offerings responsive to student needs). This is for the benefit of GCCP herself as well as for other Chinese churches in the Philippines. This study answered the research question, 'What are some primary factors associated with new members of the last 10 years (2005-2015) joining Grace Christian Church of the Philippines?' The research examined the three factors of Pulpit Ministry, Culture Change, and Vision as primary factors of church growth. This study looked at pulpit preaching and its central importance in the life of the church. It also examined culture in the church and the change process and why these are important factors to consider when implementing change. However, very little research has been done on how these experiences impact the spouse. The focus of this research project is on the impact on the pastor's wife. This dissertation examines five case studies of wives of wounded pastors whose husbands have experienced conflict at their church resulting in them leaving their church. I have provided a narrative of each wife's situation as told by the wife. The narratives provide the context and thus provide clearer insights into the impact of their experiences.     To help us understand the impact, we examined the challenges pastors and wives face while in the ministry context as compared to after they were forced to leave. The pastor's wife's voice has been a missing piece in our strategies in preparing pastors for ministry. This project distills her insights, along with those of pastors and church leaders and gives us a more comprehensive understanding of the challenges pastors and their wives face.     This study includes tangible strategies to better equip pastors and their spouses to deal with the challenges of ministry. It provides information that can be used to develop ministries that support and encourage pastors and their wives when they encounter conflicts, are wounded and forced to exit from their church.     These strategies will include ways churches, denominations, seminaries and new ministries can implement these recommendations."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130284945571840,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:29:10.089Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":5,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"Dissertation","hits":1,"label":"Dissertation"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Bleeker Joshua J","hits":1,"label":"Bleeker Joshua J"},{"value":"Daniel G Kachikis","hits":1,"label":"Daniel G Kachikis"},{"value":"David G Friese","hits":1,"label":"David G Friese"},{"value":"Markene M Meyer","hits":1,"label":"Markene M Meyer"},{"value":"Shane A Prewitt","hits":1,"label":"Shane A Prewitt"},{"value":"Stephen Go Tan","hits":1,"label":"Stephen Go Tan"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Fidelity","hits":1,"label":"Fidelity"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Church group work","hits":2,"label":"Church group work"},{"value":"Bible--Study--Methodology","hits":1,"label":"Bible--Study--Methodology"},{"value":"Burn out (Psychology)","hits":1,"label":"Burn out (Psychology)"},{"value":"Chinese","hits":1,"label":"Chinese"},{"value":"Christian education","hits":1,"label":"Christian education"},{"value":"Christian life","hits":1,"label":"Christian life"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[{"value":"Philippines","hits":1,"label":"Philippines"}],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":6,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Dallas Theological Seminary","hits":6,"label":"Dallas Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":6,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"2016","hits":6,"label":"2016"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Dallas Theological Seminary","hits":6,"label":"Dallas Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":6,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Dallas Theological Seminary","hits":6,"label":"Dallas Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":6,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":6,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
