The researcher of this applied research project seeks to identity stimuli that motivate a leader to choose God's will in place of one's own will. While the major cause of this is a lack of biblical, theological truth applied at the pastoral level, the result of it is the disappearance of an important spiritual foundation necessary for the development and maintenance of spiritual stability in the modern church. The practice of worship in the Reformed Church initially was driven by a perspective fixed on a high view of God and characterized by a formal-liturgical style. That historical heritage was lost over time because changing perspectives allowed the introduction of a variety of styles that were heavily influenced by social and technological developments. These new and different worship expressions increasingly have ignored the important and unchanging biblical view of worship in favor of yielding to a demand for a more emotional experience. More importantly, the current trend is causing the church to become accustomed to the absence of an applied theology of worship. That theology is necessary for making good decisions regarding appropriate expressions of worship in the personal life and in the life of the local church for years to come. An examination of the biblical data from a historical and grammatical perspective revealed that worship is the expression of a Christian's commitment to a lifestyle of venerating God through an unceasing remembrance of his glory, a willing submission to his lordship, and a conscious life of spiritual service. Thus, the worship of God is designed to be the single most dominant spiritual feature of one's personal life and therefore the faith life of the church throughout the generations. This understanding is essential to promoting and sustaining healthy faith, so it must constantly be reaffirmed in the evangelical church. The most effective way to do that is in the training phase of present and future church leaders. The development and evaluation of a seminary training course on The Theology and Practice of Worship is designed to meet that need."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130749623074816,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:36:33.241Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:36:23Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:37:05Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ada14447-47aa-4b36-9fd8-6043fe3471d8","accessControl_ssim":["a0f6ab63-26a4-44a6-a5dc-43866a68a50b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Training individuals in the church setting to establish and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships in ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:36:18Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:08:54Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f7c10015-a126-420c-8109-73381ed1e90a"],"hasLease_ssim":["1e0e0b16-7e88-4041-883d-45a5f56b5934"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Daniel P Elliott"],"keyword_tesim":["Religious surveys"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Interpersonal relations"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The central goal of this project was to raise the awareness and motivation of the participants in the area of relational skills. The survey of Washington State congregations will seek to validate the hypothesis that the gospel is understood as in the lordship salvation tradition rather than free grace tradition. The purpose of the research project is embedded in the question, 'what is the gospel and how is it understood by people in the pews?' In order to test the hypothesis and answer the question, this researcher did the following: developed two separate survey questionnaires, one survey for the pastors of Washington State CBA churches and one survey for the congregants of Washington State CBA churches. The two surveys were then evaluated for areas of agreement and disagreement. The hypothesis was affirmed that the primary theological position held by the congregants and pastors was the lordship salvation understanding of the gospel."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130440491335680,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:31:38.430Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:30:23Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:29:50Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"56c83ab1-8c7c-4b49-8aaa-b3a634a43ba0","accessControl_ssim":["54180ed6-1876-498f-8c45-89f81062b397"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Development and evaluation of a course on expository preaching for Ukrainian pastors"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:30:22Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:40:52Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4efc47c7-3ea8-4478-b4a5-aa24dcfb8b63"],"hasLease_ssim":["f84b8c55-c75e-4340-8294-c6246e6813fe"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John W Reed"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Igor Yaremchuk"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Expository preaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this dissertation was to examine the effect of properly training expository preachers for ministry in Ukrainian/Russian Churches. The body of the dissertation is divided into four parts. A literature review that highlights the core issues gleaned from previous research as well as literature pertinent to the subject of discipleship specifically geared to developing leaders is provided. The procedure and research method used is given. A report of the results of the research is provided. Finally, conclusions and research implications are given. The author believes the continuing development of leaders consistent with the discipleship model found in the NT is vital to the life and ministry of Coppell Bible Fellowship, the church that the author planted over ten years ago and remains the pastor of today. As a church planter and pastor the author is particularly interested in 'equipping' or 'discipling' people in the local church for 'servant leadership.'"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129804396822528,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:21:31.803Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:29:21Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:38:22Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"bada4e20-00ce-42cb-85fc-52684b10ae2f","accessControl_ssim":["477886c8-e994-4177-9c8f-4ef89cd46acd"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Addressing sin and divisiveness corporately: how the community of God could be involved in reconciliation and restoration"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:29:20Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:30:28Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["34cc1bfb-489f-4deb-af8e-0d7ab454e2d3"],"hasLease_ssim":["6e195f99-b110-4237-9bf3-4781f378d6fd"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John W Reed"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Michael C Gerhardt"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Ex-church members","Church membership"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This research was to discover the current practice of pastors to involve others in the reconciliation process to those who have fallen into sin or have been divisive.
