The small groups were expanded to become a meta-church model in September 1993 with the evaluation ending April 1994. The thesis (using empirical research) was to show that the meta-church model would have immediate and long-term qualitative and quantitative effects upon the church. The results of the program and research included 4 small groups with 43 adults increasing to 11 with 101 adults, with an increase from 42 percent to 81 percent participation in April 1994. Additional research and surveys showed results attributable to the program."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130349987692544,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:30:12.119Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:57:04Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:36:05Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a4e7b73f-a3f3-4e78-bb1c-24c988691eb1","accessControl_ssim":["7903c215-c6a5-493a-88b4-19ab07947ca5"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preparing engaged couples for marriage in Sweden"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:57:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:55:18Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ad5bcbca-2711-4287-9c58-4e4a52b3bd15"],"hasLease_ssim":["f565f069-038b-4c14-99b3-c42c7d677810"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lucy Mabery"],"year_tesim":["1995"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John R Breneman"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Marriage counseling"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project evolved from the question: how will a marriage preparation program for engaged couples affect marital relationships in Sweden? In the situation, twelve children and male adolescents were sexually abused by a male teenager from the church family. The focus of the research was upon the manner in which the leadership dealt with the problem. Information was gathered from various parties involved; the responses of these various groups were then compared and evaluated. The goal of the research was to discover and chronicle principles of leadership in the midst of a crisis, specifically one involving sexual abuse in a church. Questions regarding church discipline involved what constitutes cause for official church discipline, how discipline is to be carried out, and what also constitutes reason for the removal of the action. The dissertation also briefly addressed the issue of the relationship of church and state in matters involving the criminal activity of a church member. The conclusion was to declare that leadership involvement in managing crises is a necessary and constitutent part of church ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130339187359744,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:30:01.819Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:18:54Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:34:13Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"904cad04-1e7a-4960-85df-cfc6e42e8357","accessControl_ssim":["60d8779c-bbf8-4e6c-bfeb-444610b0107d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A comparison of the formative and continuing essential characteristics of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International with a proposal"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:18:53Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:21:33Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d18fc418-4918-4b89-8ad6-1a974c98992f"],"hasLease_ssim":["eaff2fa6-45c4-4a1e-af2d-629f6a450200"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David Edwards","John W Reed"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David W Hardy"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Baptist Bible Fellowship"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project evolved from a concern over the lack of printed material describing the essence of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. Doctrine I is a required course in the In-Ministry Master of Religious Education program of the Southeast Asia Extension Program. The course was taught at the four seminar sites of SAEP (Manilla, Ilolio City, Hong Kong and Bangkok), with twenty-seven students participating. A pretest-posttest design was followed using two equivalent tests. The data gathered was also used to compare the scores of Bible college and secular college graduates, to study the educational value of detailed lecture notes compared to outline notes, and to compare the scores of three groups by nationality. The posttest scores were sufficiently higher than the pretest scores to show the overall effectiveness of the course. The results from the three subproblems were not conclusive."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129799615315968,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:21:27.243Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:17:56Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:38:28Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"c063ab1f-56c9-46db-a01e-4c6e2ef7a751","accessControl_ssim":["a92862e6-75ef-4ef3-babc-5bffb6fd2272"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Case studies of pastoral leadership in the church, number 10"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:17:55Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:40:08Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0e338c4d-1b62-47bd-ad8f-669c5433eb34"],"hasLease_ssim":["be69fdc2-6b79-437d-be98-ccd10c5ef00a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John W Reed"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William Breuer"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Clergy--Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The case studies contained in this dissertation were designed to test the following hypothesis: an effective Christian leader maximizes his strengths, minimizes his limitations and consistently grows in Christlike character while influencing others to develop and accomplish a common vision. The hypothesis reads: an effective Christian leader maximizes his strengths, minimizes his limitations and consistently grows in Christlike character while influencing others to develop and accomplish a common vision. In this dissertation two pastors of visibly growing churches were selected as subjects for evaluating the Project Cathedral hypothesis. Through the use of aquestionnaire, an evaluation tool, on-site observations and church documentation, data were collected, analyzed and interpreted for each case study. Based upon the evidence presented, both subjects in these case studies validate the Project Cathedral hypothesis for effective Christian leaders. The long-range goal of Project Cathedral is to develop tools to help pastors be more equipped in analyzing their gifts, character development and vision, evaluating their ministry skills and assessing action steps needed for improvement of leadership. Included are recommendations for future case studies that are part of this project."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131236700258304,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:44:17.754Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:15:35Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:27:22Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"394713eb-1abe-4eb0-86ee-708d558709b8","accessControl_ssim":["5c2a31b6-570c-4465-88b8-ae901821b704"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A teacher's manual on Christian evidences for educated Chinese in North America"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:15:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:47:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d88188a1-7528-4e5f-8592-dd91a7ee25db"],"hasLease_ssim":["5a478f7b-44d5-4e84-90fb-52ec8ace172f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert J Choun"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brian Lam"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Apologetics","Christian education of adults","Chinese Americans"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this dissertation is to produce a teacher's manual on Christian evidences for a thirteen-lesson adult Sunday school class for educated Chinese in North America.
