Using a quantitative approach, data was accumulated after twelve weeks of instruction and application of the Bible reading method with the goal of hearing God. Medical education does not provide this information.  The author's purpose is to begin to address this lack by investigating and teaching biblical truths of the imago Dei.  The research project is rooted in inductive Bible study.  It is designed as an inquiry into the meaning of the specific imago texts as well as other biblical texts relevant to medical ethics. The Navigator 2:7 Bible Study Series was the methodology used in this study. Southern Gables Evangelical Free Church, Denver, Colorado, provided the test groups in which growth or non-growth in discipleship was measured.  Measurement of progress was based on a testing instrument developed around the Navigator 'wheel' illustration.
