Interviews and scaled response statements were employed to assess changes throughout the process. The results indicated that developmentally based performance reviews did generate improved job clarity and aligned staff members with the church vision. However, improved satisfaction with personal development was not supported. The rate of attrition and level of satisfaction were monitored during two three-month periods, before and after the implementation of service management principles.
