The lack of a clearly defined vision statement by Christian leaders is a major contributing factor to plateaued or dying churches.  A clear statement of vision provides a ministry with greater direction, unity, relevance, motivation, financial support, and valid education.  Will a 3-month small group study using Malphurs's steps for building vision produce a clear and unified vision of ministry among the leadership of Warren Community Fellowship, as determined by using a pretest and posttest vehicle of measurement?  Warren Community Fellowhship is a 5-year old, suburban, non-denominational community church with an average attendance of 400. The third step of the methodology, which involved drafting a vision statement, was tested over a four-month period with the First Baptist Church of Media, PA. The premise applied was that a congregation needs to have opportunity to interact with the creation of its own unique mission statement to ensure the validity and implementation of its mission statement.  The developmental components included an initial all-church survey, an advisory council of key leadership representatives, an adult Sunday Bible school curriculum, a sermon series, deacon home meetings, congregational meetings, a subsequent all-church survey and a short quiz to test congregational ability to articulate the summary slogan of the church's mission statement.
