This phenomenological, qualitative study presents a curriculum that addresses shame and equips in contemplative prayer, scripture meditation, and soul care relationships to develop shame resilience. Twelve men and women participated in a spiritual formation group and retreat. All reported a noticeable and transformative increase in shame resiliance, and the ability to develop ongoing resilience strategies. It outlines a model for spiritual formation centered on being conformed to the image of Christ. Theoretical support ties spirituality to marital satisfaction, and subjectification to love for God and others. Measures include the DAS, SWBS, and qualitative questionnaires. The congregation was surveyed using the REVEAL Spiritual Life Survey. The researcher then led a strategic planning process to clarify the purpose, vision, values, and direction of the church. Changes were implemented based on survey data and group input before the same survey was administered again. The project consisted of introducing Lectio Divina to Nazarene evangelicals with a Wesleyan hermeneutic that bridges the gap between evangelicalism and monasticism. The statistical analysis of the eight week course indicated that those who practiced Lectio Divina by praying through the Lord's prayer experienced encounters with
