The evangelism questionnaire was designed by the researcher for the purpose of monitoring evangelistic behavior and attitudes.  The research demonstrated positive influences on the subjects, but lacked conclusive results. A twelve-hour seminar was designed to expose participants to the various ways pertinent scriptural passages have been interpreted and to extenuating circumstances which lead to divorce.  An attitudinal test was designed and administered prior to and following the seminar.  As well, pragmatic reasons for preserving marriage, methods of counseling, and methods of teaching for attitudinal change are discussed in the thesis. The course compared research on corporate reward systems with rewards and punishments in the Bible.  Rewards are weak motivators but strong in communicating values.  Values espoused by not rewarded are not seen as valuable. Values-in-use are values that are supported by rewards whether espoused or not.  The leaders' evaluation of how well their reward system supports their espoused values did not change significantly. The thesis used to test the research question was: Increased organizational commitment results when an individual's personal meaning fits with organizational mission. The hypothesis that poststudy commitment level scores would be higher than prestudy commitment level scores was satisfied. The researcher trained a team to befriend and evangelize this target group using relational evangelism methods and larger group activities. Emphasis was given to using contemporary methods which would appeal to the audience's felt needs. At the conclusion of the research, the target group was surveyed and compared with a control group of similar people. Ten sermons were preached: five were formatted inductively, and five deductively.  Retention of data presented was measured by a ten-question test which was administered immediately following each sermon presented.  Each test consisted of eight true or false and two multiple choice questions.  Statistical t-tests were used to compare the mean score of the inductive and deductive sermon formats. The Specific Interpersonal Trust Scale (SITS) measured the levels of trust both before and after the mentoring program.  The SITS scores failed to support the hypothesis; the scale was also faulty as a measurement tool. Groups were pre- and posttested with the Spiritual Well Being Inventory.  The null hypothesis was reached; thus, statistically, the thesis could not be proven true. A sponsorship model was tested where hosts from the church made regular contacts with newcomers over a period of four months. Success in integration was measured by objective and subjective measures of involvement and belonging.  The sponsor contacts with newcomers were evaluated according to quality of contact.  The hypothesis was that success in integration would correlate with contact quality. They fail to show how the preaching of the Word has anything to do with going to work, raising a family, paying bills, or any of the myriad of problems that we face today. The question then is, what is relevant preaching?  A biblically relevant sermon is a sermon that meets needs by relating the principles of Scripture to the human condition. This project used active research in the form of questionnaires to elicit the response of the congregation to felt-need sermons.
