The socio-psychological perspective of conflict was studied from a Christian orientation.  A proposed process for mediation in congregational conflicts was tested in four conflict situations and evaluated. The emotional impact upon children and parents is presented. The biblical-theological foundations of post-divorce adjustment are viewed with the aspect of forgiveness as a primary element in adjustment and decreasing stress in the post-divorce period.  Research was accomplished through a library survey of behavioral science and legal data, along with interviews of family counselors and judges.
