It examined the biblical terms for power and correlated these with the organizational perspectives on power.  The project design used 'The Power Management Survey' to compare perceptions.  The pastor felt motivated primarily by affiliation and friendship.  The laity felt the pastor was motivated primarily by socialized power.  A democratic leadership style was present. The purpose of this handbook was to develop a handbook that could be used in training lay elders. The primary research method used was 'Creative Studies'.  'Documentary Studies' were used employing 'The Library Survey Method' to develop the material in the handbook.  Disciplines used included scripture, early church history, practical theology, and behavioral science. These ministries involved evangelism, discipling (nurturing) ministries and a variety of ministries designed to meet physical needs.  The research method of this project was literary, involving an exegesis of the Greek text of the great commission and an examination of relevant, supporting scriptures.  Further research dealt with a study of Wesleyan and evangelical antecedents in holistic ministry.
