The project was intentionally designed for the growth of both the mentor and the student.  The project utilized learner-centered mentoring to accomplish the project's purpose.  In this mentoring paradigm the responsibility for the learning experience is shared as a means to deepen the spiritual lives of college students and utilize the influence of each mentor. The project was structured around training sessions, weekly meetings, and follow-up sessions. They learned how to take care of their friends by praying for, calling, and listening to each other. The church staff and a college worker analyzed the college ministry, interviewed students, and studied a questionnaire to identify needs of students.  From this study the leaders developed a college program involving each organization of the church.  The project made the leadership more aware of students' needs. The goals and objectives were designed to be reached within three to five years. The congregation was given opportunity, through open forums, to give valuable insight to the planning. The results were approved by the congregation's acceptance of the Guidebook, a new Glorieta plan to improve teacher training and the relocation of the church by 1992.
