Working with a ten-member team from Litz Manor Baptist Church, we journeyed through eight distinct phases of transformation. Each phase utilized questionnaires, group coaching and teamwork principles to elicit open and transparent feedback. By focusing on outward ministry possibilities, this team discovered several options for future growth, implementing three. Churches can have and do all the 'right things': congregational unity, biblically faithful worship and teaching, baptisms, large missions receipts, deep savings, community outreach programs, and denominational notoriety--and yet dontinue to experience numerical stagnation and even decline. This project discusses the local church as a living organism exploring the theory that every church is unique such that identifying and actively expressing its congregational DNA can lead to revitalization. In this study the responses to a series of congregational surveys, interviews, and inventories were 'interpreted' and used to identify a church's DNA. The ultimate desire is to see God bring revival to the life of the church and community.  The project consisted of six teaching sessions, an eight-message sermon series, and the completion of a life journal.
