Therefore, the focus of this project is to establish mentoring relationships to help get young people involved, especially in leadership roles where they can contribute to the church. The strategy defined the goals needed to evangelize and discipline young adults and to initiate the transformation of the culture at TBCC toward becoming one that actively seeks young adults. The project used the Myers-Briggs Personality Index to understand positive differences between team members and enhance the team's strength through diversity. The team utilized business principles of 'silos,' and 'Mutual accountability' through the Oz Principle. This was accomplished by developing an integrated discipleship strategy for young people, parents, and senior citizens to collaborate on biblical mandates and other resources to transform all of their lives spiritually. Resources included literary research, youth minister interviews, and two decades of youth ministry experience. Appraisal comes through written evaluations and an interview evaluation. The leaders demonstrate an understanding of this process by engaging in an intentional relationship. Relationships are essential to the proper maturation and growth of an individual. Unfortunately, at-risk youth fail to experience positive, nurturing connections with significant adults in their lives.  Mentors have a valuable opportunity to demonstrate to a young person these lacking qualities through an intimate relationship of mutual trust.  This project focuses on leading a group of adults through the beginning stages of forming a mentoring relationship with a young person susceptible to self-deprecating behavior without intervention. Youth received training in developing ministry skills, mission awareness, and personal evangelism. Church youth groups made commitments to apply the training received to a mission project in their local community. In 1987 six of thirty churches who participated successfully completed projects.  Improvements were made and twelve of nineteen churches successfully conducted local ministry projects in 1988. The purpose of the organization included mission study, mission involvement, and personal and leadership development of Baptist young men of high school age. This equipping process included group meetings, exposure to other worship services, assigned books, periodicals, audio tapes and web-sites, as well as personal observations and reflections.
