During the ten-week teaching module, developed by the researcher, seventeen participants engaged in learning experiences and assignments designed to increase their self-awareness in cross-cultural encounters and their understanding of culture. The project involved three phases. Phase one included the selection of participants from diverse cultural backgrounds, and designing of learning activities. Phase two was the actual training event. Phase three involved the post-training interview and evaluation of participants and the project director. Documents on deacon selection and training criteria were produced.
