The purpose was achieved by training parents in both cognitive and behavioral skills.  The project was conducted in light of the following assumptions: 1) children need guidance; 2) the most effective teachers for children are parents; 3) the best time to learn is childhood; and 4) the natural environment for learning is the home.  The project was developed in cooperation with couples whose children were ages birth through early adolescence. It concerns the development of a workshop and teaching manual on the biblical instructions which are given to parents.  The workshop is designed for Christian parents, and is constructed in such a way that it can best be used in church settings such as study groups, church training, weekend workshops, and retreats.  The major method of study and research was a personal in-depth study of scripture.  The results of the project were twofold.  First, it was established that a need exists for such a workshop within the ministry framework of the local church. The facilitator conducted six two-hour seminars on the following topics: (1) introduction of theological rationale and theoretical presuppositions, (2) exploring and understanding our own sexuality, (3) sexuality in childhood, (4) sexuality in the home, (5) values, and (6) communication skills.  The facilitator led four parent support groups to reinforce learned skills. The writer provided a thorough bibliography and extensive appendices.
