To determine how to preach such sermons the theological issues of the Law, salvation, sanctification and biblical preaching were considered.  The preaching styles and convictions of Bryan Chapell, Tim Keller, Andy Stanley and Rick Warren were also examined and evaluated. With this need in mind the Nine Practices of The Proactive Parent was developed to address the moral vacuum cause by the lack of a comprehensive character-driven approach to parenting. This writers observations were gleaned from personal experience, interaction with parents through counseling, teaching opportunities, and in-depth study of well-known parenting experts. This is God's living system. The biblical account of God's creation and new creation form the basis for understanding living system theology. The 'Expanded Jeremiah Model' (Jeremiah 29:7) provides for the church a dynamic and interactive paradigm for discovering and participating with God's living system. Repentance is necessary to be prepared to address the possibility of counterproductivity in a fallen world. A group learning exercise called 'hexagoning' is utilized as a discernment tool for Central Assembly of god Church, Boston, which allows the congregation to understand God's gracious work in the church and in the city. The researcher developed and taught a redemptive discipleship class as a tool for reducing legalistic tendencies. Students took a pretest and posttest survey. The pretest survey results confirmed the existence of legalistic tendencies. Given the limited time for the class the researcher decided that a reduction in legalistic tendencies of ten percent will be considered meaningful.
