The history of the Perspectives course is recounted, focusing on the cultural and missiological environment that influenced the course. An annotated bibliography covers the history of the evangelization of various regions of the world. The author created a guide for Perspectives program developers to aid them in adapting the historical section into their particular cultural contexts. The situation is complicated as individuals come to know, through work or school, people who display homosexual behaviors. The struggle comes as the result of two conflicting ideas: the biblical teachings opposing homosexual activity and the relational experiences connecting people together. As a result, severe stress comes when a member of a traditional Christian family announces they are homosexual. This thesis seeks to demonstrate an approach to counseling families in distress that is both biblically sound and psychologically effective. The approach will be integrative, applying a theologically supported, structural relations oriented approach looking at the context of the family. This research evaluated their current theological and philosophical understanding and their methodological practices of disciplemaking. Qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys were utilized to evaluate their practices of disciplemaking. The development of a theological framework and the literature reviews of current disciplemaking practices led to the qualitative interview and qualitative questions. The purpose of this study is to help others know how they can effectively reach a people's group and thus plant churches amongst indigenous people. The gospel had made significant impact on Anyii yet some have rejected the gospel, remaining in pre-Christian spirituality or trained to serve at the mmosoe shrine. This study explains this phenomenon and shows how pre-Christian spirituality has prepared Anyii for the gospel. Anyii believe in the one true self-revealing creator-God, this research concludes that Nyamea pili is the same as Yahweh, the Father of Jesus Christ. With an interface between Christianity and Anyii primal religion, the gospel, as their creator's hope for Anyii, will be enhanced by a Bible translation and mother-tongue interpretation in Anyii. Conclusions are drawn from a survey of works on the critical factors that contribute to the process of spiritual formation. Spiritual formation is 'being alive to God' and 'being like God.' That is, a person undergoing spiritual formation grows in intimacy, love, devotion and knowledge of God and becomes more like God in his thoughts, emotions, desires and behavior. The basic factors in this process are: (1) what God has done for the believer, (2) what God has made possible for him/her, and (3) how a Christian responds to what God has done and made possible for him/her. These factors are rooted in God's sovereign grace. God makes spiritual formation possible and works with his people as they go through the process of spiritual formation. This two credit hour academic course on spiritual formation has been developed for undergraduate students at a Christian university. Students will gain valuable knowledge regarding spiritual formation and experience training that is critical for a lifestyle that makes spiritual formation possible.
