I begin with an exploration of community and church as described by sociologists and ecclesiologists. Members of St. Andrew formed the 'Let's Connect! Team' and shared this learning and their experience of community. This team then invited our congregation to enter into a fuller understanding and experience of Christian community. As their chaplain, I daily sat in listening presence with them. This paper tells the story about how I assessed the need, visioned and developed the concept/model of Spiritual Life Group, and evaluated the efficacy in transforming both the individual life of each resident as well as the habitus of the facility.
