The author seeks to give clarity to a theological basis for Christian motivations in giving.  The general thesis of this project is derived from biblical material.  The author argues that the mandates for Christian discipleship are necessarily inclusive of the biblical principles of giving. Twenty-three lectures were presented in Bible study sessions in a congregational context. The intentional process included an invitation to and a decision to participate, workshops in skills, mentoring, and evaluation.  Skills, taught in 'Growth Sessions', gave practice through group and individual processes.  Support through mentoring and evaluation was very important in encouraging persons in their growth.
