The fraternity invites Catholic priests to pray together, to encourage, support, strengthen and enjoy each other as a 'band of brothers'. Our research studied current American culture which shows the Catholic Church to be shrinking. The author argues that the Islamic community has suffered fragmentation as a result of this artifical divide.  The author contends that really understanding the concept of tawheed is the true answer -- the bridge as it were -- to overcoming  this artifical divide.  He decided to work with young people who were not as tainted as their parents. The author utilized cognitive restructuring as the theoretical construct. Research and the experience of one upper middle-class, suburban, United Church of Christ congregation show that many young adults eschew traditional theological language, doctrine, and worship. However, many yearn for stronger connections with God and others who value spirituality. Through reflection, worship, and service, we engaged with the young adults of our church. A method for quickly and discreetly evaluating the theological world of family members is developed, worship elements corresponding to preferred theological world are defined, and guidelines for evaluation of the effectiveness of the resulting service are established. This approach was utilized by the author with 15 families having no formal church affiliation.
