The 23 lessons are constructed around discipleship themes containing biblical teachings, Anabaptist writings and contemporary writings related to the theme, plus journaling exercises, a spiritual exercise and a discipling session. Christian maturation is defined as growth toward having a Spirit-filled character as described in the New Testament.  A six month course was taught in six churches and involved thirty-four people.  Pre- and post-course psychological testing instruments were used as well as questionnaires at the end of the course.  The comparison of the testing instruments' data shows a significant growth toward Christian maturity as defined by the author.
