The author studied this thesis by locating church leaders according to Robert Kegan's personality balances and then observing their actual behavior through the process of making a key decision in the life of the local church.  He found that Kegan's theory of constructive-developmental personality was helpful in understanding the differences that were demonstrated in the various ways the church leaders envisioned, implemented, and evaluated the decision that confronted them. The design is used as a teaching tool in the training of elected officers for their work which illuminates the importance of effective organizational management and theological integrity. Research focused on the nature and functioning of an embassy, the identification of the strengths and weaknesses of organizational models and the insights of Kingdom of God theology.  The model proved an effective means of helping officers understand and accept their responsibilities.
