Its central thesis is that the black church must fully embrace female participation in ministry if it is to be true to the liberating gospel it claims as part of its heritage.  A combination of historical and theological approaches, theory, and observation techniques constitute the methodology for this study. The design is used as a teaching tool in the training of elected officers for their work which illuminates the importance of effective organizational management and theological integrity. Research focused on the nature and functioning of an embassy, the identification of the strengths and weaknesses of organizational models and the insights of Kingdom of God theology.  The model proved an effective means of helping officers understand and accept their responsibilities. First, there is data gathered from several week-end workshops for personal change conducted by a well-known pastoral counselor.  Second, there is a discussion of such issues as ethics in counseling, the work of the Holy Spirit, metaphors of theological importance, and a series of practical questions that deal with such issues as evangelism in counseling. Third, the work describes suggestions for pastoral identity as a result of the data collected.
