The goal of this project has been to articulate the role of the liturgy as ethos in the formation of liturgical, pastoral and parochial ministry.  The first three chapters bear upon the dynamic of the imminence of the Kingdom of God in the preaching of Jesus and its appearances in the structure of the Lord's Supper. It is developed around Jesus' eschatological announcement of the kingdom of God which calls the Church into being, determines its mission, and summons forth its discipleship. In turn, discipleship becomes the paradigm for life in the congregation.  There are four major themes: discipleship as encounter with the Good News; discipleship as celebration; discipleship as life in community; and discipleship as the radical change making Christ the center of one's life.
