Using action/reflection methodology, the project considers four outreach initiatives made by the congregation in the period from 1998 to the present -- a weekly community meal, a child care center, a neighborhood housing development organization, and collaboration with Narcotics Anonymous. First, a critical analysis of contemporary trends and methods of evangelism is offered, followed by consideration of how The Book of Concord addresses evangelism and mission. The case of Dietrich Bonhoeffer is then presented as a situation that has evangelistic emphases apart from church growth and marketing.
