The client's struggle with guilt relates to a full theological understanding of human sin and God's forgiveness. Closeness and distance in human relationships relate theologically to sin and redemption. Responsibility in relationships is reflected in the love and faithfulness of Christ in his sacrifice for his body, the church. Sexual addiction is a compulsive disorder. Sexual fantasy introduces chemical changes in the human body, producing a semieuphoric state of lust that afterwards gives way to shame. The project offers testing and counseling--including the rituals of confession, the means of grace, and preaching--for 14 persons enrolled in a recovery program for sexual addiction.
