A survey tool was used to measure the attitudes of persons in five different congregations in western Perry County, Pennsylvania. The congregations which were studied were United Church of Christ (2), United Methodist, Presbyterian, and Lutheran. The study also evaluated the data by age and gender indicators. The overall study indicated a significant ecumenical openness in worship, fellowship, witness, and mission. Areas showing limitations in openness included the use of the ecumenical creeds, relations with the Roman Catholic Church, evangelism, social justice issues, devotional practices, feelings of loneliness (61 and older) and not feeling needed (confirmation age to 25)."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714677516664832,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:34:24.807Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:09:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:35:20Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"dd751790-e0c1-4ce8-a5fb-0bc6b9a60bc2","accessControl_ssim":["c0ad73d8-7b6c-4c73-8000-b963847e6528"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Recovering lectio divina"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:09:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:28:12Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d8d58972-3b86-435c-9c16-9639a7040f59"],"hasLease_ssim":["3cb63500-ae86-4de1-ac98-9dada5a2ae8d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia"],"advisor_tesim":["Gordon W Lathrop"],"year_tesim":["1990"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Barry R Folmar"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia"],"subject_tesim":["Prayer","Luther, Martin, 1483-1546","St Peter's Lutheran Church (Highspire, Pa)","Spiritual formation","Theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Lectio divina is a way to pray with the scriptures. First, a critical analysis of contemporary trends and methods of evangelism is offered, followed by consideration of how The Book of Concord addresses evangelism and mission. The case of Dietrich Bonhoeffer is then presented as a situation that has evangelistic emphases apart from church growth and marketing. Finally, consideration is given to how the assembly of the baptized, specifically through worship, forms Lutheran congregations and members for evangelism and mission."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714527154012160,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:32:01.410Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:15:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:35:08Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"cd14a179-612c-491f-9dfd-f71e6e7fb43e","accessControl_ssim":["aac9ef1f-52b9-4a50-ad13-71e5f7315b8a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The Gospel of Luke: mirror and vision for Christian stewards of today"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:15:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:01:22Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["60e018bc-058b-4935-bf10-0a11ec019b64"],"hasLease_ssim":["6fcb963e-b4cb-4b99-8200-7386a6e64589"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia"],"advisor_tesim":["William O Avery"],"year_tesim":["2000"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Clifton J Suehr"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia"],"subject_tesim":["Christian stewardship"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project attempts to engage serious lay students in a six session study of stewardship that utilizes selected texts in Luke as a mirror of present practices and attitudes, and then 'lifts out' a vision to guide future endeavor.
