The objective is to assist the adult student in approaching John Wesley's contribution to spiritual growth and help him utilize the methods and means offered.  An adult Free Methodist Sunday school class served as the field setting for a pretest inventory, three lessons, posttest inventory, and interview.  Strengths and needs from the pretest determined the lessons' focuses. A subsequent purpose was to present those findings to the Department of Local Church Education of the Wesleyan Church for practical consideration and utilization.  The primary purpose was accomplished through research in records and publications preserved in the denominational archives. The subsequent purpose was accomplished in a seminar presentation to the department.
