The project director researched the field of strategic planning. Basic skills for effective planning were identified. The project director also researched the field of curriculum development. The information gained from researching both fields was used to develop appropriate strategic planning curriculum. Twenty-four learners attended the equipping sessions. The church council members represented varying degrees of past exposure to strategic planning. The project director researched numerous sources in order to develop a six-session curriculum for teaching mentoring skills. Experts in the fields of mentoring and curriculum development reviewed the research and curriculum throughout the project. The project director equipped thirteen men at Ginger Creek Community Church to mentor future leaders. He held the workshop in the spring of 2010.
