The project director researched the field of team-based ministry and developed competencies utilized in a curriculum, which was taught to the selected adults of First City Church, Sevierville, Tennessee. An annotated bibliography was developed based on the research from the field. A Faculty Mentor, Field Mentor, Field Expert, and Curriculum Expert were recruited to assist with the project. The project accomplished its purpose when the selected men completed the training and began mentoring other men using their newly acquired mentoring skills. This Doctor of Ministiy project contained three primary components. The first component involved researching various resources in the field of biblical mentoring in order to identify essential skills. The second component of the project involved the development of curriculum. The third component of the project was the equipping phase, in which the director equipped the selected men with biblical mentoring skills. The project director developed the Spiritual Mentor Workshop to train people to mentor others in discipling relationships.  Research yielded valuable information in the fields of mentoring, discipleship, and curriculum design to accomplish this goal.  The workshop was a seven-week training event that equipped twelve people, six men and six women, to be spiritual mentors.  The project director used various evaluative measures, including assistance from academic expert Dr. Jerry Pounds and educational expert Carol Passmore, to analyze the project.  The workshop launched spiritual mentoring as a disciple-making strategy at His Church in Pineville. A seven session curriculum designed for the ministry project discussed the biblical basis for the nature of mentoring and the spiritual disciplines, the Scriptures, prayer, discernment, confession, community, and witnessing.
