The research director researched the field of elder care and identified the best practices and developed materials to assist in the training of the selected participants. The director then used these materials to develop a four-session workshop whose subjects included: 'What is a caregiver?,' 'Suddenly you are a caregiver,' 'Encouraging spiritual growth,' and 'Creating a care plan.' In a ten-week training program of group activities and lectures, the project spent five weeks educating parents about teenage sexuality and five weeks training parents to lead children effectively. The first goal was to develop an instrument which would determine if a select group of parents were meeting the spiritual needs of their children.  The second goal was to develop a structured program which would enable parents to meet the spiritual needs of their children.  The third goal was to enlist and train ten to twelve people who would commit to meeting the spiritual needs of their developing children.  Ten people completed the course of study to help equip them to nurture their children's faith.
