The goal of this project was for West View Baptist Church to become prepared to be a church planting church. The project director began this project by researching contemporary North American church planting ministries and receiving training in curriculum development. The project director used the knowledge gained to develop lessons for training the group of members of West View Baptist Church. The goal was to utilize information discovered through research about family worship disciplines as it relates to married couples with children to develop a curriculum to equip participants to initiate family worship disciplines. The selected group of married couples received workshop materials, instruction on practicing family worship disciplines, sample curriculum to teach at home, as well as demonstration of families practicing family worship disciplines. The training occurred in five sessions over the course of several weeks. The project director implemented the project with selected adult leaders in the Sunday school at Mount Zion Baptist Church who desired to increase their understanding and skills in using the four components of emotional intelligence. Before the six-session workshop, participants completed the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal [registered symbol] as a pretest and post-test. Workshop sessions explored the present need for emotional intelligence in ministry; self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management as they relate to ministry. Training included six instructional sessions that lasted one and a half hours each. The sessions were taught from the text of Matthew 4:18-20; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 2 Timothy 2:1-7; Ephesians 4:29-32; John 15:5-8; and Matthew 9:16-17.  The sessions were presented in one-week intervals with assignments to personally apply the content between sessions. The six sessions included a common purpose, clear role expectations, solid relationships, team processes, leadership, and communication. The goals of this project were as follows: to research team building leadership skills in order to develop teaching plans to equip the staff in team ministry, to develop teaching plans in order to equip the staff in team building leadership skills, and to equip the staff to practice team building leadership skills. The professional goals of this project were to increase the project director's knowledge of team building leadership skills, and to increase the project director's skill in curriculum design. Finally, the project director utilized the training model to equip the new member assimilation team with a more efficient way for Grace Baptist Church to receive new and prospective members.
