The project consisted of providing training in four transformational leadership skills to achieve clarity of direction, unity of purpose, and intensity of efforts: visioning the potential impact of the Great Commission in their ministry setting, inspiriting commitment to the vision, stimulating the intellect to discover and resolve barriers to the vision, and coaching for the implementation of the vision. The purpose was to enable the state leaders to become the National Church Library Ministry team that will carry out the objectives and actions.  A survey of 796 church library directors was conducted in January, 2002 to gather up-to-date information about church libraries. The state leaders met at the Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, Tennessee on March 12-13, 2002.  The process included ministry analysis, values discovery, environmental scan, and mission, vision, and strategy development. The thesis was that a selected group of students could be taught concepts of strategy planning and a theology of missions, and then write a missions strategy for the DBU family.  Eight student leaders participated in seven ninety-minute sessions about the role of missions in a Christian's life.  The result of the project was a written strategy to engage the Dallas Baptist University family to understand the biblical basis of missions and their role regarding home and foreign missions.  The process involved researching the history of missions at DBU, training in the biblical basis of missions, and casting a vision of opportunity for DBU in missions. The director trained the students in strategy development and the principles were applied to produce a written strategy. The project included enlisting twelve facilitators for the inactive member visitation team.  The training encompassed four sessions taught in a single day.  The workship lasted five hours and the training module and the facilitators' growth were evaluated. Several types of evaluation were used including: expert evaluation, survey, post test, and pastoral reflection. The research of applicable Scriptures, literary resources, and alternative programs resulted in the development of an informed strategy.  To implement the strategy a variety of tasks had to be accomplished:  the development of a study guide for use in a discovery workshop, the completion of ministry descriptions for positions in the church, the development of self-assessments, and the training of laity to conduct post-workshop interviews for referral and placement. The goals of this project were:  (1) to lead a selected group to understand the grief process; (2) to assist the selected group to enhance their counseling skills in the grief process; and (3) to enable the selected group to develop a one-year plan to counsel persons in grief.  The project methodology included lectures, videotapes and audiotapes, case studies with role-plays, varied visual learning experiences, and cognitive knowledge tested by group game competition.  All of the preceding procedures and techniques occurred during the eight training sessions.  The qualitative analysis revealed that from the pretest/posttest no significant statistical difference resulted in the selected group members' cognitive knowledge after the eight training
