The first step of the project consisted of researching church and community demographics. During this step, the project director explored existing discipleship strategies of Christian churches and secular organizations. In the second step, the director led a discipleship strategy team to develop an adult discipleship strategy. In the third step of the project, the director presented the developed adult discipleship strategy to Oakville Baptist Church for approval. Oakville Baptist Church unanimously approved the adult discipleship strategy. The workship schedule consisted of nine sessions held on Thursdays with approval by the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and the administration of MSP. The selected group consisted of thirteen IRAs, and each session lasted approximately two hours. The project director addressed the following pastoral issues: pastoral ministry skills, comfort and caring skills, anger management skills (two sessions), counseling skills, interpersonal relationship skills, listening skills, and suicide prevention skills before closing the workship with a final summary session. The project goals were to research the field of pastoral ministry skills, to develop teaching sessions to equip selected IRAs in pastoral minisrty skills, and to equip selected inmate religious assistants (IRAs) in pastoral ministry skills. The project director assembled and analyzed the demographic data from Hazlehurst, Mississippi, and First Baptist Church, Hazlehurst, Mississippi. The project director explored methods of assimilating young families in order to inform the assimilation-strategy team. The project director with the assimilation-strategy team developed a strategy that included three key areas of connectivity and recommendations in each area for First Baptist Church to assimilate young families. The first step will involve in-depth research of FBCH's trends in the past ten years and a demographic study of the make-up of both the church and the community. The research will be conducted using FBCH's last ten Annual Church Profile reports as well as recorded church history. the demographic study will be conducted using data from the United States Census Bureau's 2010 census. Next, a team of lay-leaders from FBCH (2020 Team) will be chosen by the project director for the threefold purpose of: (1) assisting the project director in evaluating the overall health of the church, (2) giving insight to the overall strategy of revitalization and (3) help in setting goals for the year 2020. The project director will meet with the 2020 Team for at least five sessions to accomplish this threefold purpose. The 2020 Team's revitalization strategy proposal will be presented to the FBCH Church council for
