To achieve the goals for this project, the project director utilized an equipping module. The first phase of the project involved researching many different resources in the field of small groups and small group leadership skills. The project director utilized these resources to produce the lessons used to equip the selected group. The second phase was to develop a seminar, including lesson plans and a student workbook. The final phase of the project involved implementing the seminar for the initial training of the selected group. The seminar consisted of an introduction session, four lessons, a conclusion session and an implementation discussion. The seminar was conducted on four Sunday afternoons. An initial deacon's retreat provided an opportunity for the deacons to renew their spiritual life and knowledge of the office of deacon. Following research and consultation with an expert in the academic realm, the project director developed and led four teaching sessions. First, the project director researched critical mission issues and skills for cross-cultural ministry in order to develop a tool to train youth for ministering cross-culturally overseas. Second, the director developed a teaching module for selected Southern baptist leaders in Texas to use to train youth for ministry in cross-cultural setting. Last, the director equipped selected Southern baptist leaders in Texas with the teaching module to train youth in ministering cross-culturally. These selected leaders along with the youth participants provided assessment and evaluation regarding the effectiveness and usefulness of the training module. In addition to the ministry goals, the project director pursued two professional goals. The first professional goal was to increase knowledge in cross-cultural ministry for the purpose of developing a tool for training youth. Session two explored foundational elements of the greeter ministry and the greeter lead team responsibilities. Session three included role playing, a detailed tour of the church property and facilities, and the use of church map identification. The development and implementation of the assimilation process were outside the scope of this
