The study course included five instructional sessions scheduled one week apart, with workbook assignments for participants to complete between each teaching session.  The goal of this course was to teach participants the biblical principles which lead to spiritual growth, as well as scriptural standards by which to evaluate key aspects of their lives.  Learners then moved from self-evaluation to setting written goals that drew them closer to God's standard for their lives.  Finally, participants designed a customized spiritual growth strategy, including specific action steps to reach their goals. They are not dead because both husbands and wives still live together; they are not separated or divorced.  The marriage is not alive either because the union has become sour, bitter, and burdensome.  In the search to find out how best to reverse this trend, communication skills stand out as one solution.  The project is a research into literature from leading authorities in both secular and religious communities on communication skills with particular reference to strengthening marital relationships.  Care was taken in the selection of materials to assure sound biblical foundation.  The materials selected were used to develop lesson plans for training couples in communication that leads to relationship building. The purpose of this project was to train a select group of married couples of Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Lagos, Nigeria in communication skills to strengthen marriage. The training sessions focused on developing participants in communication that builds up relationships with the overall goal of producing a healthy marital relationship that leads to security and stability of Christian homes. The focus of the project is on verbal, face-to-face, communication between couples.  Hence, the discussions during the seminars emphasized components of communication such as listening, self disclosure, and transparency.  As the project progressed, it became obvious that participants, though vast in Bible knowledge, pay very little attention to applying biblical principles to their lifestyle. This meant that the discipleship programs which many of the participants attended and their personal Bible studies emphasized head knowledge rather than heart knowledge.  What changes people is the application of Bible principles to everyday life, not just the hearing of the word, but the doing of the word.  Therefore, the project emphasized application rather than theoretical knowledge of the Bible to achieve the desired goal.  As a result of this finding, couples' ministry has been fully established in the church with monthly activities. Mentors were enlisted for training in biblical principles concerning the ministry of mentorship, the happy functioning of a Christian family, and the distinctive biblical teachings concerning the various family roles. Training consisted of four sessions which were held on a Friday evening and a Saturday morning as part of a seminar for senior adults. The project director wrote and presented a vision for mentoring ministry and the path for the steps needed to achieve the vision. The experiences of planning the seminar, teaching the seminar, and evaluating the seminar provided valuable insight into the process of training senior adult mentors. The project director became convinced that faithful Christian senior adults are the greatest untapped resource for instruction and encouragement in family living for younger adults. The project involved enlisting 11 men from the church to participate in the project. The men were equipped using teaching sessions taught by the project director over the course of two weekend retreats. During the six weeks between the two retreats, the men participated in weekly community group meetings with the project director. The strategy was designed by the project director after performing evaluations and surveys of the pastors, ministers of evangelism, ministers of education, and outreach directors.  The evaluations determined the level of evangelistic intentionality of the miniisterial staff and the church members. Demographies were overviewed to discover the people groups who reside in the communities surrounding the churches.  The responses from the evaluations and surveys were used by the director to determine the course of action needed by the churches to implement the NET.  The Director of Missions from the Roswell Bapstist Association evaluated the strategy and accepted the plan for implementation in the
