The project followed the ministry research model.  The project director researched evangelism trained resources and methods.  The research led to the development of an annotated bibliography, a comparison grid, and a paper identifying effective evangelism training characteristics.  The fruit of the research aided in the developemnt of the conference model. Conference materials were presented to the state evangelism division director and the conference model was piloted. Utilizing an approved bibliography and a survey of church members over 65, the director researched how Baby Boomers will live into their retirement as opposed to how Builders lived into theirs and developed a seminar that consisted of six ninety-minute sessions. Participants examined the dynamics of retirement and developed a future story that incorporated missions and ministry. Sessions included pertinent scripture, work sheets, questionnaires, PowerPoint presentations, discussion groups, and individual reflection. The project director researched demographics, interviewed national pastors and international missionaries, studied cultural nuances, and accumulated other data in order to understand the cultural and religious context in which a new church would be planted. From this collected data, the project director developed a strategy that involved the usage of a team approach to planting a new church. The International Mission Board regional leadership for Brazil decided to delay any action on the strategy developed for this project because of logistical problems related to the fact that the region was in the midst of a major transition. The Eastern and Western South America Regions were joined to form the South American Region. The strategy was then to be presented to members of Capshaw Baptist Church (CBC) for consideration for adoption. The project was to lead a selected group of members in the development of a strategy that would serve as a ministry plan to address the emotional and spiritual needs of families suffering from chemical addictions in CBC. The team was to utilize selected principles from Aubrey Malphurs' process of advanced strategic planning. Research for the project centered upon the discovery of available resources directed toward the family member of the addicted person. The student researched the availability of existing local church ministries or programs for family members of addicted persons, and Christian-based addiction recovery programs in the state that touched on the family members' need in the recovery process. A seminar was facilitated to develop each participant's cognitive, affective, and behavioral readiness for ministry.  The goals of this project were to research resources relatd to preparing for God's call, to develop teaching materials to assist students in developing a vision to carry out God's call, and to equip students to carry out their call to Christian ministry.  A paired-sample T-Test was calculated to compare the mean pretest score to the mean post-test score. The sessions focused on the scriptural basis of deacon ministry, the role of deacon as minister, the use of spiritual gifts in deacon ministry, and the formulation of deacon ministry teams.  The project goals were to research the skills needed to minister using deacon ministry skills, to develop a program for equipping deacons to minister using deacon ministry teams, and to equip the deacons to minister using deacon ministry teams. Project participants took a pre-test to determine the level of their knowledge of deacon ministry, their understanding of the biblical qualities of a deacon's life, and their comfort level if they were to be chosen as a deacon.
