The project director discovered several biblical financial planning concerns of churches through a survey. The survey data and curriculum development course taken helped guide the project director to develop teaching materials that equipped the select group of Georgia Baptists.  The equipping process included teaching biblical financial planning solutions to volunteer financial consultants in a two-day equipping retreat. Training included five instructional sessions in five successive weeks with assignments weekly geared to the personal application of session content.  The first two training sessions explored the elements of basic church greeting ministry and the expansion of greeting ministry responsibilities as presented in current church growth literature.  The third session examined the challenges of church greeting ministry as it is directed towards the incoming contemporary generations.  In the fourth session, themes were explored to prepare participants to share with church guests an expanded knowledge of Beth-el Baptist Church. The project's topics included the practice of devotions, the perspectives of self, the priorities of life, and the purpose of life.  The project director wrote twenty-eight devotions that served as daily homework. Each devotion was accompanied by a daily scripture card with the project director's original artwork. This facilitation was accomplished by better understanding of the hope and comfort given in the Scriptures. The deacons, then, engaged in leading a group of new members through a three-hour new member assimilation course. The deacons developed a greater understanding and awareness of the need for new member assimilation. The team desired to foster spiritual maturity within church members through disciplemaking. Research of disciplemaking determined the lack of models that could simply be adopted. Instead, the team selected disciplemaking elements from several current models for inclusion in this strategy tailored for Gracewood Baptist Church.
