In six sessions and a workshop over a period of eight months, participants focus on the text by praying and centering, and then, as the Spirit moves, they raise questions and enter dialogue. At this point the text seems to explode. This transforming Bible study method offers great possibilities for participants to transform and be transformed by the renewing of their minds (Rom 12:1-2). The diversity that appears to be threatening unity and advancement of the postdenominational church is in fact a gift of God.  This diversity, under guidance of the Holy Spirit and (in part) through the ministry of preaching, can be harnessed for great good in carrying out local church mission.  The project directed a process that drafted a statement of congregational identity for approval by the congregation. Will they be able to live more consistently as Christian disciples in the world? This project seeks to answer these questions a pretest/posttest questionnaire administered to 68 laypersons.  The experimental group of 34 persons received six hours of theological instruction. The control group of 34 persons received no instruction. The process involved the same 8-member lay leadership team which had worked with him in the case study experience: a series of congregational studies and forums that grew out of theological reflection by the pastor and the congregation particularly on the shared praxis model (critical reflection and dialogue) of Thomas H Groome. Using Whitehead's theological method, a biblical-grounded basis, and contemporary-type small groups, the author tailed a variety of groups which provided new life and energy into the church.  Each set of groups was measured using objective data and subjective evaluations.  The membership, attendance and finances of the congregation dramatically improved during the project.
