This project analyzes and explores the use of Thomas Groome's shared Christian praxis as an approach to teach an introductory church history course. Church history as faith story can formulate Christian self-understanding (Malaysian Christian self-understanding). An introductory church history course syllabus based on shared praxis was designed and taught. By integrating feminism, object relations theory, and theology a theory is created which evaluates the meaning of females' traditional Christian faith as that affects psychological development. A parallel is drawn between cultural gender definitions and male god representation functions. The project focused on immigrants who had become related to The International Church of the Metroplex (TICOM).  Separate practicum discussion groups of immigrants and Americans and a random survey indicated that even though they had had negative experiences, especially of rejection from white churches, the immigrants had kept their Christian faith intact.  The practicum also revealed that it was a lack of contact and interaction between the Americans and the Third World immigrants which was responsible for  their fear and mistrust of one another. The practicum had two objectives: to discern, through a detailed survey, the contextual factors governing the Christian witness of Korean-Americans; and to develop a method of evangelism which could communicate the gospel to those beyond the church. The author's basic assumption concerning the Korean immigrant congregation was that it needed to emphasize a holistic ministry of three perspectives: worship, service, and fellowship, with teaching considered a part of fellowship.  The emphasis was to explore and test how the Bible and theology can be taught meaningfully to a Korean immigrant congregation.  The result was that the participants obtained more biblical knowledge, more theological understanding, and a higher consciousness for coping with and adapting to American culture while keeping their Korean identity.
