The project examines baptism, the Body of Christ, the priesthood of all believers, and church structure. It includes a workshop (six two-hour sessions) in which laypersons are guided to explore and claim their ministry. Participants indicate through evaluations that the workshop influences their understanding of ministry and leads them to explore further their call."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720587564679168,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:08:21.068Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T05:18:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:38:53Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a629d0fc-baa0-4c6b-9fd5-fc1dfb7ee523","accessControl_ssim":["ba01316d-52dc-4274-8c85-c46ac31d7880"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A model for training local church youth workers to equip youth for the task of evangelism"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T05:18:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:57:24Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4f5b4469-bd47-4684-8962-1706a656f18c"],"hasLease_ssim":["8c674d0a-36fe-4ff2-b3aa-99545e878595"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Stanley J Menking"],"year_tesim":["1996"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Stephen E Gallaher"],"publisher_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"],"subject_tesim":["Mentoring in church work","Church work with youth","Evangelistic work--Study and teaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project develops, tests, and evaluates a model for training local church youth workers to equip youth for the task of evangelism. Women from the area of greater Trenton, New Jersey, between the ages of 25 and 39 who are not active in church are enlisted as a focus group. The group format includes guided meditation, personal drawings of God images, and a survey to compare narrative information from women no longer active with that of women currently active in a United Methodist congregation. The project does not establish a link. Both focus groups express dissonance with the church's God images while maintaining continuous internal God-imaging.
