The purpose is to develop more precision in understanding the mission of the church and to provide a more systematic approach for accomplishing the mission founded upon the commissioning statements of our Lord, 'Go' and 'Follow me'. An extensive training program for the development of the elders was established covering the areas of being called, history, teaching, flocking, prayer, creative listening, leadership, and gifts and talents. The foundation undergirding this study was learning responsibility and accountability. A mission statement was developed through a study group addressing four basic questions: 1) what is the church; 2) what is the function of the church; 3) what is the purpose of the church; and 4) what is the church's reason to be?"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715918205419520,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:54:08.020Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:54:51Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:31:33Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"dcec586a-99f8-4f94-939b-4da3b8478c1c","accessControl_ssim":["25d32b1b-c82e-4905-8bf4-57d8c1e9f910"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The resolution of guilt through confession, absolution and reparation in a support group environment within the local church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:54:50Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:27:06Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f3d4c372-c7f0-48ad-bc92-01781ee7f706"],"hasLease_ssim":["80a72088-7fa9-466f-8a02-f7cbe0051c44"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["James W Gordon"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Pastoral counseling","Absolution","Guilt--Religious aspects--Christianity","Pastoral psychology","Confession"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project integrates theology and the ministry of pastoral care in the development of a short-term therapeutic approach to guilt resolution, utilizing the basic principles of integrity therapy and the 'twelve steps' of Alcoholics Anonymous as a therapeutic model.
