The project is an intervention program of eight sessions which confronts the participants with their powerlessness. The underlying philosophy is Alcoholics Anonymous.  The methods used in the sessions are the pedagogy of shared praxis developed by Thomas Groome.  In terms of motivation the participants were asked to attend a support group for recovery. The format is a non-residential facility receiving probationary or paroled offenders referred by the court or self upon release.  The client reported twice weekly for twelve months and received spiritual and psychological support and a full range of social services for self and family.  Insights from process theology provide the theological perspective.
