The group explored ways in which the canonical text and its claims confront, interpret, and reshape the individual stories of contemporary believers.  The works of Frederiick Buechner provided perspective, commentary, and a medium of exchange between the biblical world and the world of contemporary listeners. A handbook includes practical guidelines for organization and activities for program. The conclusion of the study shows that process thinking, inductive reasoning and faith development research provide the basis for a dynamic Christian community. The method of study was a combination of a learning-support group of parents who met to share needs and concerns and to test resources developed with a survey of selected parents in three different-sized United Methodist congregations.
