Chapter 1 set the context for the ministry and how the project will be carried out. Chapter 2 established a sacred foundation for lay involvement in ministry. A case is made in chapter two using biblical, theological and historical arguments for the activity of the laity in ministry. Chapter 3 investigated the needs of the rapidly aging American population. A.H. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs was used to emphasize the person's needs. The chapter ends with a section of modern day churches who are ministering well in this area. Chapter 4 described the implementation of the project. A detailed discussion on the administering of group discussions is followed by a description of the course of study administered to the group. An evaluation of the project makes up chapter 5. Intentional visitation ministries to aged shut-ins focus on the emotional and spiritual needs related to their well-being.  A ten-week training program and visitation assignments help equip persons with knowledge, attitudes, and skills related to the priestly function of ministry with the aged and dying.  A training group and control (non-training) group visited two groups of aged shut-ins. Surveys and focused interviews evaluated the effect of the training program. Research methodology involved the proposal of a theological and psychosocial rationale for evangelism among senior adults. An evangelistic program entitled the ISAAC plan (Inviting Senior Adults to Accept Christ) was established.
