This was done through the processes of developing, teaching, and evaluating a nine-session course of study.  General information and self-esteem questionnaires were used with a study group and a control group.  Shamanism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Christianity, as well as changes in a woman's position from the Shilla, Koryo, and Yi Dynasties, were factors which influenced self-esteem in a hierarchical, patriarchal society. The second hour of the seminars dealt with essential elements of evangelism and dialogical communication. The project adapted Jackson Carroll and James Hopewell's process for congregational study using both research instruments and guided interviews with small groups to develop a church's identity story.  A theoretical base for using story in local church ministry was presented. A narrative of the small group's interaction and reaction to the production of a story of identity was provided. A ten-week class for parents surveyed ways to provide a positive environment within the home.  Questionnaires provided before and after the studies revealed that improvement was evident. Chapter 2 presents a theological, biblical, and theoretical foundation for this project.  Chapter 3 describes the involvement of the congregation, the development of the research tools, and the implementation of the research design.  The selection of participants for the various parts of the study and the presentation of research data from the churches are highlights of this chapter.  The ministry as conducted is described in chapter 4.  This chapter details the steps involved in the preaching and teaching ministry, and provides the synopses of the sermons preached to the Flint Hill congregation and the lessons taught to the small group. Chapter 5 evaluates the effectiveness of the methods chosen for this project. The two different methods are compared to determine their relative success and to determine the most effective. The community residents were pretested to determine initial levels.  A one-month intensive marketing campaign followed. Afterward, the community was posttested to determine any change.
