Chapter 1 shares the background of the project.  It gives the history of the church, the demographics of the area and the purpose of the project.  Chapter 2 presents the biblical, theological and historical perspectives of the use of education to assimilate.  Chapter 3 deals with the sociological factors of assimilation and how they would apply to the local church.  Chapters 4 and 5 cover the actual project.  The results of the project were the training of the Sunday School leadership in different ways to minister to newcomers. Worship elements not used on a regular basis and found to be meaningful to baby boomers were labelled as alternative expressions of worship.  Chapter 2 presents biblical principles used as criteria needed to properly evaluate worship experiences.  The main issue of this chapter emphasized authentic worship to prevent the incorporation of worship elements which might be viewed as entertainment or novelty approaches to worship enhancement. Chapter 3 outlines baby boomer views on cultural and religious issues. Shamanism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Christianity, as well as changes in a woman's position from the Shilla, Koryo, and Yi Dynasties, were factors which influenced self-esteem in a hierarchical, patriarchal society. Chapter 2 presents theological, sociological, and psychological ideas that are foundational for ministry with new members. Chapter 3 summarizes the preliminary study conducted with active, inactive, and former members.  It also details preparatory work with deacons, Sunday school leadership, and the church at-large to lead the church into this ministry. Chapter 4 presents the design and implementation of the new members orientation class which was the central element through which new members participated to become better assimilated. This project's goal was to present this design for families in an eleven-session intervention, thereby strengthening the family systems and their church.  The method of research included presentations, discussions, drama, and tests.  Conclusions were drawn from comparisons of pre- and posttests, which included scales for information and perception.  The results of the project were that while the knowledge about families increased significantly, the feelings about family changed less. First, it provides a conceptual framework assisting individual persons to understand their own spiritual needs; second, it helps congregations to determine the spiritual position of their group; and
