This project gives churches a process whereby this can be successfully done.  A group of members from an area church was taught to utilize this plan within the context of their geographical church field of ministry.  They carried out the project that had children as its focus. Chapter 3 presents an analysis of the influence of Liberation Theology and the Charismatic movement, as well as social realities, on the Hispanic community in the United States. Chapter 4 explains the project methodology, with focus given to a training conference featuring lectures on expository preaching and the delivery of an expository sermon. The project seeks to design a process for developing biblically healthy pastoral leadership. Chapter 1 presents the purpose, goals, context, rationale, definitions, and limitations of the project. Chapter 2 discusses biblical and theological perspectives on leadership in the lives of Jesus and Paul. Specifically, this chapter develops the role of servant leadership in the ministries of Jesus and Paul, and espouses it as the biblical model. Chapter 3 surveys leadership as an intellectual discipline and presents a model for biblically healthy pastoral leadership. This chapter also explores the dynamics of team based leadership and gives examples of disciplines common to great leaders. Chapter 4 explains the creation and implementation of the Arizona Leadership Network. Attention is given to the five developmental phases of the project and to the transformational development of a leader from personal leadership to organizational effectiveness. Chapter 5 provides an evaluation of the project goals along with modifications that could be made to strengthen the project for future use. Following a review of the New Testament emphasis on sound doctrine as related to church planting, and the IMB's current strategy for evangelism and church planting, an eight-hour doctrinal course was developed, implemented and tested over a 16-month period with positive results.
